Local MP Mark Patterson presented the awards on behalf of the Minister for Agriculture, Hon Damien O’Connor who was unable to attend due to flight disruptions. Mr Patterson acknowledged the resilience, hard work and love of the land of those present and also paid tribute to the commitment by their forebears to reach such an important milestone.
This year the Friday night welcome event was held at the local Tuapeka Vintage Club which proved to be a real hit. Families loved the atmosphere and the chance to share memories over some of the old machinery, vehicles and artefacts on display.
